I started to write about post about how I couldn’t believe starbucks already had out gingerbread lattes, and then realized that I had already written that post! Almost 1 year ago today to be exact, so I figured I would just repost that one since my sentiments are the same! That being said I will share that starbucks is offering a buy one get one free deal from the 18th-21st if you buy a holiday drink from 2-5 pm. So even if I am already mourning the loss of the pumpkin latte…I may be convinced to move on to my other favorite the gingerbread latte…
I’m a big fan of the Starbucks Latte’s when the weather starts to get cold. The love begins with the Pumpkin latte and moves on to the Gingerbread Latte. But each year I am confused with the timing of when these great flavors make their debuts! How can they be selling the Gingerbread Latte already??
In my opinion the Pumkin Latte should come out in September and continue through Thanksgiving….then after Thanksgiving the holiday season begins and that is when the Gingerbread Latte should be featured. What do you think? Should I start a letter writing campaign?
Although I am someone who likes to get their Christmas shopping done BEFORE Thanksgiving, I have a strict policy not to start listening to Christmas music, or decorating for the holidays till AFTER Thanksgiving. So it’s then that I am ready for ALL things Christmas. It’s then that I am ready for the Gingerbread Latte. When I think of Thanksgiving I think of all things pumpkin…pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread and so on…that includes pumpkin lattes! What the heck starbucks?!
I think your timeline is perfect. It seems too early for the gingerbread latte – I need my pumpkin latte to be available as long as possible!
i love when they break out the red starbucks cups… just makes me want to buy one! i typically am a ‘dont play christmas music until after thanksgiving’ person as well… however, i broke that rule this year since we had such early snow…and now its even worse. we have our christmas tree up before thanksgiving. way too early…but the only weekend we could do it.
Well you gotta do what you gotta do when time permits! I saw the pictures you posted and I can’t believe there is so much snow! I get excited to put up the decorations too!
Holiday season in retail begins the day after Halloween. Though Starbucks is crazy strict about when their stores can use Holiday stuff. They can’t put out the cups early, can’t use the ingredients early. When I was manager I wasn’t even allowed to open my retail merch until the day given.
People were shopping in the mall for gifts and they expected us to have red cups and gingerbread lattes…I don’t want to think about what would’ve happened if we didn’t. lol.
Used to be holidays began after Thanksgiving. Now its after Halloween. In a few years it will be after the 4th of July!
It is worth asking your local Starbucks if they have Pumpkin left. I always ordered enough to get us through November at my stores.
