After The Alter is a blog that I started in February of 2009. I love being a wife and mom, and I feel that although I am still learning, I will someday be able to inspire people with my experiences and/or stories. Here, in this blog I will discuss my life “after the alter” meaning after being married, and the changes that go with it. I love being married, and here I share stories of my life as I learn how to be the best wife, and mother I can be and all my crazy thoughts along the way. Along with those crazy thoughts I will bring you a bunch of reviews and hopefully share news and information that will help you with your family!  It’s a journey, and I am excited to share!

Before anyone can appreciate my stories in the future, I must give a little background of my past. My life is rather ordinary. I am 40 years old, and live on Long Island. I am originally from Pennsylvania. How did I end up in Long Island you ask? Well at 18 I went to Hofstra University, and graduated with a BA in Public Relations. There, I met and fell in love with my now husband. We married in June 2008. We now live in Long Island and are living happily in our townhouse with our son, and our wonderful  4lb Pomeranian Tinkerbell.

After our first year of marriage, my husband (Called Captain Awesome here) and I decided to start our family. We scored big time when I found out I was pregnant after our first month of trying. We were the happiest people in the world! Unfortunately the happiness didn’t last long. I miscarried  at about 6 weeks, and if you want, you can read about the whole journey here. We were devastated. After months of no success, we finally got our miracle on our 7th month trying post miscarriage. That’s right…we FINALLY got our BFP! The Captain and I couldn’t be happier.

Our son was born on December 1, 2010, and my daughter on September 18, 2014. They are the the light of my life . They are now the stars of this blog as I share my motherhood journey.

This blog thus far has followed my life as a newlywed, my troubles with TTC, my pregnancy, and now my life as a mom. Oh what adventures I have ahead of me. Don’t worry, you will still get a lot of my random thoughts.  Thank you so much for following my adventures.
