I love a good breakfast, but Captain Awesome could go with out it. Definitely something we are working through…. but I digress. So this past weekend when my mom was in town I took advantage and we took the little man out to breakfast. I knew exactly where I wanted to go. The (fairly) new restaurant in Huntington Town called Two Blondes and A Stove. I had heard some wonderful things and I wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about. I am so glad I did because the place was such a great breakfast spot. The kind of spot where you feel at home with your family, and best of all the kind of spot where your children are welcome.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dena who is the owner of Two Blondes and A Stove. I only met her for a short time, but a word that comes to mind is “inspiring”. Dena is a mom of three who recently faced a “change of life” event. She had to pick up and figure things out and with that she found the perfect space and started a restaurant. Two Blondes and a Stove is open 7…count them….SEVEN days a week for breakfast and lunch. And on all seven of those days Dena is there making sure everything runs smoothly. Many times if you come in you will see her kids helping out. I found it adorable to find her youngest son putting flowers on the outside tables!
The wait staff was so friendly, and the décor makes you feel like you are sitting at your kitchen table. It was just comfortable. The menu takes your average breakfast foods and makes them different. Especially the children’s menu who has fun names like like “Goldilocks Pancakes”, and “the big bird”. Our little man had the Winnie The Pooh Pancakes (aka chocolate chip pancakes), and he LOVED them!
My favorite part of Two Blondes and A Stove is the fact that children are welcome. Not just tolerated…but welcome. The place was filled with families with kids and that made me feel so much better when my little guy refused to sit still any longer.
Another fun thing Two Blondes and A Stove offers is cooking classes. That’s right, Dena takes her expertise in the kitchen and shares it with the class. Check out their online schedule, but here’s a teaser…the next three themes are Basic Italian, Ultimate Brunch ideas, and Holiday Feast!
If you are looking for a great spot to take your family to eat then Two Blondes and a Stove is a perfect option. With such a hard working woman and mom behind the scenes I have a feeling this restaurant will be a Huntington Town hot spot for a long time. Don’t miss out!
I was provided with breakfast for my family for the purposes of this review. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
