Man have I been a lazy bones recently! It’s the worst! People tell me to rest while I still can, and I think I am taking that advice way to literally. My house is a disaster, and I wish I could say that I was doing something so productive that I just don’t have time to clean my house, but the reality is that’s not true. In fact, that would be an outright lie, because my free time is spent napping, or just sitting on my couch. Don’t get me wrong I love it, but I also love a clean house. Do you think I could just be like Samantha from Bewitched and just wiggle my nose to get the house cleaned?? Then I could have a clean house AND sit on my couch….no?? Bummer! Instead I guess I have to go back to the basics. A while back I did a post about creating a chore chart. It was great, it worked well and my house looked great. The best part about it is I only spent no more than 30 minutes a day cleaning! But somehow I stopped following the chart along the way and it got hard again, so I have to get back on track and get back to the chore chart.
The sad thing is I have the chore chart staring at my on my bullitine board in front of my desk. Each days task is simple and easy, and doesn’t take much time, but as the end of the work day rolls around I decide to put off that days task onto the next day…then the next…then the next and it doesn’t get done. I am hoping that by writing this post I am guilting myself into starting the charts back up next week. That’s right dear readers! Monday I PROMISE to get back on track….oh wait, Monday is memorial day…well dear readers I PROMISE to get back on track on Tuesday! I promise this isn’t a cop out. I will be at my parents house in PA this weekend and won’t be back till Tuesday, so really I COULDN’T start the chart till then.
A clean house just feels wonderful. I wish I could remember that instead of my desire to do nothing. For now, I am hoping you guys can keep me on track. Do you have a chore chart or any type of organized cleaning schedule? What works for you? Maybe your ideas can motivate me!!!
I really need to get busy with some sort of chore chart, myself. My house and my laziness is just OUT OF CONTROL. Seriously.
Maybe we can form some sort of group? Support group? Therapy for people who doanwanna clean?? ?

I think a support group is totally necessary! ? sign me up!
I so agree with you that a clean house loook and feels wonderful. But just like you I have been neglecting it, but from next week I going coming on top of that. Hopefully I can try your chart out :)!
Good we’ll motivate eachother to start next week! ?
It’s ok!!!! You’ve got good reasons! I would love to hear about your chore chart! I have figured out the routine for that yet at my house! Your tips would be great!
I hope you will post pictures when you have your prego belly! ?
I have my chore chart in the original post here: http://afterthealter.mwpsites-a.net/works-for-me-wednesday-chore-chart/
I will definitely be posting pics of my preggo belly..I was going to this week but there really wasn’t much to show..lol
I tried FLYlady for a while but… we just didn’t mesh well.
I’d be curious to see what your chart looks like! (I’m a list voyeur, lol, I love to see how other people organize just about anything!)
My list is here in the orginal post: http://afterthealter.mwpsites-a.net/works-for-me-wednesday-chore-chart/ Let me know what you think! ?
a chore chart sounds interesting… i need to implement something because with all of the activity in here and my crazy schedule, i always seem like im playing catch up :-S
That’s why the chore chart was so great when I was keeping up with it! No catch up necessary!
i immediately clicked on your original post and read all about your chore chart and i am so happy about the similarities! I also have a 2 bedroom townhouse that sounds just like yours! i always like the house to stay ‘presentable’ in case an unexpected friend stops by and this sounds like a GREAT way! hopefully i can use my saturday or sunday to super clean everything.
one question: what is a roomba? (aka rosie?)
ahhhh the roomba! it’s a robot vacuum! http://www.irobot.com/ lol it scoots around on it’s own and vacuums. A nifty little device!
See I too need to keep it clean for unexpected guests. how embarrassing when the house is a mess! I have a friend that no matter when I come by the house is SPOTLESS! mine..not so much lol
Um, You ARE being productive – REproductive, to be precise! I read somewhere that the energy we expend growing a baby during a day in the first trimester is the same as a guy weight-lifting for 5 hours straight! That’s exhausting!
I’m the same way! I’d like to keep my house is some semblance of order but by the end of the day I’m just so exhausted! I’m trying to incorporate my daily chores into my to do list and just do a few things each day, like your list has. I really like the idea of a support group… I need one!
Nothing smells and feels better than my clean house.:) I had a chart a will back but my busy schedule sidetracked me. Luckily my husband took over.:)
