These days I can’t make a decision to save my life. Even the smallest little decisions like what I want to eat. It’s pretty pathetic, but for some reason, one decision that was easy for me to make was which diaper bag I wanted. I can’t really say why that is, it just is….and I will count myself lucky because just like everything else when it comes to having a baby there are a lot of options! I am a huge fan of the Vera Bradley line of bags, and have been loyal to the Java Blue Pattern. My extremely generous sister bought me my diaper bag! Yay! Now all I have to do is put stuff in it!
This particular bag has a total of 11 pockets inside! That’s a lot of space to store stuff, and it even has a hook to attach a pacifier too since it seems they get lost very easily. Also includes a 26″ x 14″ terry-covered changing pad with coordinating trim. That will definitely come in handy for changes on the go.
What exactly are diaper bag essentials? I honestly have no idea? Obviously, diapers and wipes…but what else? Can you help a girl out? I won’t be venturing out much the first few weeks, but I figure at least I can start to put SOME things in the bag…but what?
Along with the diaper bag she gave me the Vera Bradley Large Duffel bag.
I have been wanting this for some time since I already have the smaller duffel. I plan to use both though for my hospital stay. The big duffel will hold all my hospital stay items, and the small duffel I will bring with me to Labor and Delivery. I’ll be arriving to the hospital in style…or whatever style I can manage with a baby ready to come out of my who ha!
So I’m all set with bags I think! Yay! What are your diaper bag and hospital bag must haves???
In my diaper bag (A Ju-Ju-Be bag):
diapers
wipes
extra outfit (I ALWAYS have a onesie in there for any emergencies)
hand sanitizer
pacifier holder
ice packs (when there’s food in it for her)
an extra pacifier for the times I forget one
2 burp cloths
magazine for me to read in the waiting area
And then specific to our situation – all of her meds and feeding tube supplies.
I like the magazine idea! always good to keep mom occupied too!
What a pretty diaper bag! From my babysitting and church nursery days, I’d recommend burp cloths and a change of clothes.
Love it!! Def an extra outfit including a onesie and socks! Make sure you change it as he grows!! A few toys, def a binky, diaper rash cream, aquaphor (they make travel tubes) and a bib. I also have a few rattle toys etc. You will see what your little man likes and what works for you:) Yeah!!! SO exciting:)
I guess that’s the trick …to remember to clean it out and change things up as they get older! lol
LOVE IT! My vera was/is a favorite ? A few of my must have’s: tide stick, hand sanitizer, a pen, the matching vera wallet ;), aden & anais swaddle blanket, extra pacifier, snack for mommy, a ziploc baggie (for poopie diaper disposal when you are out and about!). Do another post for what to bring to the hospital- that’s a whole other story- lol!!!!!

Don’t worry, I will definitely post about what to bring to the hospital! ?
