Dear Pooh Bear,
Happy 27 weeks! Can you believe that this week is our last week in the second trimester? After this we are quickly rounding the last leg of this pregnancy, and soon the day will come that your daddy and I get to finally meet you!I am dying to know who you will look like. What color will your hair and eyes be? In 2 weeks we will have our 3D sonogram and will get an idea of your features, but nothing can compare to when you are actually here. I gotta tell you that there are many options for your hair and eye color. Your daddy has dark brown hair, I have dirty blonde hair (yes I know it is blonde in pictures…so I highlight it whatever!?) But other than the two of us there is brown, red, blonde…all the colors! So which will you be?
Your daddy painted your room this past weekend! He did a wonderful job and I can’t wait for your to see it. I had a heck of a time picking out the colors though. Your uncle John Paul put up a chair rail in the room so we painted it white. Did you know how many colors of white there are? It took us 3 different shades to get it right. We also wanted blue to be on top of the rail, and a beige to be on the bottom. Easier said than done! How does one choose?? The blue I matched to your bedroom bedding and it’s a color from Home Depot called Bibiti Bobiti Blue! How cute is that? I thought it was perfect. The beige?? Not so easy! The first color I got was too dark…it reminded me of poop and I don’t think we want that. So we had to tone it down a bit and ended up with a light beige. In the end the room looks nice and bright! Here’s a sneak peak!
I am starting to get a little uncomfortable in my body little one. I have a feeling it’s only a preview of things to come in the next few weeks. I went to the mall with your Grandma, and by the end of the day my feet were rather swollen. I even had to return a pair of great looking boots because I was worried they soon wouldn’t fit. I guess fashion will be put on the back burner for now.You also have been moving around so much these days! I love feeling you move around in there day in and day out. I hope you are comfortable…but don’t get too comfortable because I still am hoping you decide to arrive on time (or even a bit early should you choose)
I finally got to get my craving for pizza hut pizza. Your Grandma and Grandpa took me. Unfortunately though, it wasn’t as good as I anticipated in my head. I really wanted bread sticks and pan pizza, so that’s what I got. The bread sticks lived up to my craving…but the pizza did not. Booo! I also have wanted a ball park soft pretzel with yellow mustard…but I have yet to get that. How sad? Instead I bought myself some Super Pretzels (frozen) and actually just ate it while I’m writing you this note! Not exactly the same, but it may have done the trick!
Pooh Bear: 27 weeks!
How your baby’s growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
The second trimester is drawing to a close, but as your body gears up for the final lap, you may start noticing some new symptoms. Along with an aching back, for example, you may find that your leg muscles cramp up now and then. They’re carrying extra weight, after all, and your expanding uterus is putting pressure on the veins that return blood from your legs to your heart as well as on the nerves leading from your trunk to your legs. Unfortunately, the cramps may get worse as your pregnancy progresses. Leg cramps are more common at night but can also happen during the day. When a cramp strikes, stretching the calf muscle should give you some relief. Straighten your leg and then gently flex your toes back toward your shin. Walking for a few minutes or massaging your calf sometimes helps, too.
Wow your little lungs would let you breath if God forbid you came to meet us early. Whatever you do DON’T do that, but I still think it’s an amazing fact. It looks (and feels) like you are very busy in there opening your eyes and sucking your fingers. So far I haven’t noticed any hiccups, but I am sure I will soon. So much to look forward to dear Pooh Bear! We have a lot of big adventures ahead!
Wow, you’re starting to really show! ? Yay!
Crazy right!? Times a flying!
We have had such a hard time deciding on paint colors too. Who knew it would be so difficult? ?
It really is! I know it’s easily changed if I hated it…but I really wanted to get it right the first time! lol I don’t think DH would’ve appreciated it if I asked him to do it again…lol it took 3 trips to home depot!
Hmmmm I don’t think you get how “we” and us work….
“we painted it white.” Cap. Awesome Painted it white
“It took us 3 different shades to get it right” – it took YOU 3 different shades LOL
Should I say “WE” painted almost the entire chair rail the wrong color white before “WE” realized it? Or since we are making it clear I can say “YOU” painted it the wrong color white in which I had to go out and find the correct color. ? Thanks for clearing that up dear.
You look great! I can’t believe you are in the last trimester ALREADY!!! excited to see you guys this weekend ?
You really have changed in 5 weeks since I last saw you… as you would. You look great! sorry to hear your starting to feel a little uncomfortable. You could have asked me about the right tone of white ?
Looking for a blog designer, know any? are they very good?, I am very picky.
sleep tight.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors. That blue is almost exactly what color we painted the nursery. It was called Merry-Go-Round. ?
Also, I swear I think my stomach is the same size as yours (except that you’re 4 freakin’ weeks ahead of me… uncool). Remind me again how tall you are. I’m hoping that’ll make me feel better. ?
You look great! And I can’t believe you’re getting ready to hop into the LAST trimester!!!!
jen thats so funny we painted our nursery the same colors except there is a border in the middle!
