Last week during Martooni Thursday’s, I watched the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy.  I have always been a loyal follower of the show, even when it strayed and lost some of its mojo. This season finale was sooo good! But I digress. This post is about the monologue that Meredith says at the end. She always begins and finishes the show with some life lesson type monologue, but this one was so good that I had to play it back and write it down. It was so simple yet so true….Did you say it?

Great Quote

Did you say it? I love you…I don’t ever want to live without you…You changed my life…Did you say it? Make a plan, set a goal, work toward it…but every now and then look around…Drink it in…Cause this is it…It might be gone tomorrow.

You really have to hear her say it. Written down it doesn’t look like much but I think the message is still there. We all have our loved ones that are in our lives, and each day we all take for granted the gift that life is. When you say goodbye in the morning to your husband/wife you just assume that they will come back to you at the end of the day. When you visit a parent, or speak to them on the phone you just assume that tomorrow they will be there when you need them. We all just forget that life is very short and you never know what God has planned for you.

So today, (and every day) take a moment and be sure that your loved ones know that they are important to you, and that you love them. I look at my husband every evening and tell him I love him…because if nothing else…it’s nice to hear.
