Dear Pooh Bear, Happy 16 weeks! Can you believe we’ve come so far?? I feel so blessed every day when I think about it, and I think about you alot. Sometimes I wonder what you are doing inside of my belly since I can’t feel you. I saw you moving around in there at the ultrasound, but it still doesn’t feel real since I can’t feel you yet. The books tell me that starting at 16 weeks I may be able to feel you, but so far nothing. I will keep patiently waiting for that day.

I am in contant amazement that a life is forming inside my belly. It truly is a wonder of God. Every day something new is developing on your little tiny body. How does it grow? I guess one could go crazy trying to really think of the logistics, but I am baffled regularly.

Your mommy is now officially 30 years old. You will most likely consider me very old for a long time, but I don’t feel old at all. I am so happy to be where I am in my life, married to your daddy with you on the way. I am starting to feel some stretching in my belly. Word on the street is that you are going to start growing a lot in the next few weeks. I guess we need to make some room! I am very ready for my baby belly to be more noticeable. For now it is smaller in the mornings and larger at night. I find myself touching  it alot…I like it! Every time I look in a mirror I turn sideways, and touch my stomach to see how it looks. I like to see how you are changing my body so much each day.

Other than that dear Pooh Bear there isn’t much new to report. This week is the Fourth of July which is your Daddy’s favorite holiday. Maybe your little ears will even hear the fireworks!

Let’s take a look at what’s going on with you!

How your baby’s growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he’s about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren’t recognizable yet. He’s even started growing toenails. And there’s a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Look! Your little heart is pumping blood, and doing it’s job! I wonder if you will come out with hair?? If so what color? So many things to wonder about over these next few months Pooh Bear! You can just keep your mommy and daddy guessing!
