For those people who are expecting a baby, and are super excited about finding out the sex of their baby as soon as possible, there is a product out there that claims to tell you as early as 10 weeks what the gender of your baby will be. It also claims to be 90% effective! What is this product? It’s the Intellegender test! I always said that I wanted to give this test a try when I became pregnant, and when that time finally came, I was given the opportunity to try out the product for my blog. It was a perfect fit! Are you dying to know what the results were?? I know I was! It said it’s a GIRL!!! Just look at the picture above!
The test tells you that you can test as early as 10 weeks into your pregnancy, but for some reason I wanted to wait till 12 weeks. In my head I felt like maybe then it would be more accurate? So I took the test on what was 12 weeks 1 day. The directions scared me at first. They seemed so precise that I was worried that I would screw it up. Things such as a syringe type thing to collect the urine, as well as the idea that I had to swirl it together and not shake. To top it all off the directions told me I had to put the test down on something white, and once set down I couldn’t touch it. Not even to look at it at the end, but when it was actually time to do it, I found it pretty easy! The good news is that I don’t think I screwed up! Woo hoo! Take a look at a sample girl result test, and a sample boy result test. The boy is supposed to come out smokey green or blue. I hope the stuff at the bottom doesn’t mean that I didn’t mix it enough?? Who knows!
According to the intellegender website the accuracy is about 90%.
In our initial laboratory trials and two subsequent independent trials, the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test was proven 90% accurate. (Each trial had differing accuracy rates averaging approximately 90%). In home accuracy rates may vary. You must follow the instructions precisely in order to achieve the highest accuracy. Since inception in 2006, the test has been constantly monitored for improvements and several formula changes have been implemented to bring real world results closer to those found in the lab. Please remember that the test is not 100% accurate. IntelliGender is committed to providing fun products for moms along their pregnancy journey. If your gender result proves to be wrong and you feel that this will in any way cause emotional stress, our GPT may not be for you.
I have heard stories of where the test was right and wrong, but in reality you have a 50/50 shot of being right. As it says in the quote above, this test should be used for fun, and I DO NOT plan on painting the nursery pink just yet!
Thus far all signs have pointed towards us having a girl. First Brooke The psychic said girl, the Chinese Calendar said girl, and now the intellegender test said girl. I have been joking that it will totally be a Boy since all of the signs say girl. I guess only time will tell! We plan on finding out for sure at our 20 week ultra sound which should occur at the end of July or the beginning of August. So the journey continues! Is the test correct???
The Intellegender company provided me with a free Intellegender Test for this review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. (as always!)
How exciting…I want to take one of the those for our next baby!! ?
For all five of our combined pregnancies, my cousins & I have used the ring test. It has yet to be wrong!
We’re not finding out the gender and as much as I would LOVE to do this test, we’ve got another 23 weeks give or take before we’re able to find out. So that would drive me insane! Chinese gender chart is predicting a boy for me, as well as some other online predition stuff, but I keep dreaming about a little girl, so who knows!
Love the little bump!
it was a fun test! We’ll see if all the predictions are right! I am dying to know! ? Good for you for holding out!
I used the Chinese calendar and it said boy. I also follow the old wives tales (basically my grandmother) and I am carrying low, crave salt and sour things, currently avoiding all sweets, and had no morning sickness. So I am guessing boy. We will find out the beginning of July!
I predicted the correct gender each time for all of my pregnant friends. Listen to your grandma, she won’t steer you wrong.
I crave EVERYTHING salty and i HATE sweets! The test i found out last nite (because i had taken 2 of them) was RIGHT im having a girl! SO don’t believe the food things! I would recommend the test its SO FUN! I am carrying higher so maybe that fun old wives tale can be true? LOL! GOODLUCK to everyone!!!
O, and i was also VERY sick with both my sons until almost 6 months pregnant! I have been much less sick with this one! So the sickness theory for me was also very backwards! lol
So you get to findout soon! Maybe you can predict mine as I start showing more;) I am craving sweets, but I too had no real morning sickness. So I guess only time will tell!
Same here. My gut says girl. Chinese calendar says girl. Everyone around me says girl. Read that higher hCGs mean girl. So we shall see. I WILL be trying out the IntelliGender in the next couple of weeks. ?
P.S. – I secretly thought you were having a girl. ?
Maybe we’ll both have little girls!! ? only time can tell now..we’ll see if all these tales are right!
Crazy!! 90% is pretty effective, so long as you keep in mind it’s not 100%.
A girl would be so exciting!
This is so interesting. I remember doing the Chinese chart and the ring test my my last pregnancy – confusing as there are two different charts and I think I did the ring test wrong. But one chart I dod for both pregnancies said boys, and it was right.
Do you have a preference for a girl or a boy? Gender issues are the focus of my blog right now. Check it out!
I secretly am hoping for a girl. I always saw myself with a little girl first but obviously I would be blessed with either one. I will check out your blog!
Wow, I’ve never heard of this! So exciting for you!
Sounds like fun, hope it’s right!
Stopped by from SITS, happy Friday.
It should be fun to see if all the tests and guesses were right.
That’s so neat! I hope its right!
