It’s been nine months since Tessa arrived and now we are ready to begin bathing suit season. Oh joy! As I began my search to find a bathing suit that I was comfortable in not only as I sat still in a chair, but one that I could sit in the sand and ocean in. Let me tell you most appeared on opposite sides of the spectrum. There were the teeny bikinis that left me wondering who above the age of 25 could wear, and the ones that just screamed “mom bathing suit”. There had to be something in the middle! So I searched…and when I did I found Swimspot.com. They had a ton of suits that would be flattering on me by covering my problem spot…my belly.
First I found the Lined Up Double Up Tankini ($122) This one looked like a bikini with a cover over it, but it’s not. It’s a tankini with a very forgiving top. This supportive tankini features a built in sports bra, deep cut sides to show a little skin and a banded hem to flatter the hips. It can’t definitely be worn at the beach or even with yoga pants as you run your errands.
The swim dress is what originally brought me to the swimspot page. I loved the idea of a bathing suit and cover up in one. The Athena Gazebo Swim Dress ($104) is extremely flattering. I LOVED the blue color and it’s extremely comfortable. I love that I can sit in the sand with my kids or jump in the pool and feel covered up, but at the same time stylish.
The Athena Finesse Bandeau Tankini ($112) hides the tummy perfectly! The blouson silhouette is perfect for anyone who wants to camouflage the midsection, and that is exactly what I was looking for! It can be worn at the waistline or as a swim dress! Versatility at it’s best!
One great aspect of the site is the fit specialist. It allows you to narrow down your bathing suit search by choosing your body type. It then filters out the suits that won’t work for your type. I have to tell you that when I did it for me there were so many suits that I wanted! The styles available are ones that I hadn’t found in stores. I received all three suits and couldn’t believe that I loved them all and that they all fit! That my friends is hard to do! I haven’t bought I suit I have liked in forever!
Good news readers! The good people at Swimspot.com are offering After The Alter readers 20% off for 3 days starting June 19th! All you have to enter is ALTER20 at checkout! Take my advice…go to the site and check out the suits…you won’t be sorry!
I was provided with bathing suits for the purposes of this review. all thoughts and opinions are my own.
