I am 29 years old…In my book that means that I consider myself and adult. I am married, I have a home, I take care of a dog and I am a upstanding citizen of the community. So I have to ask myself why am I jumping on supernatural train that has taken the world by storm?? Why am I finding fictional vampires and werewolves so sexy? Why do I feel inclined to read the Twilight books over and over, and why, when I see the actors who play the twilight characters (who are 17 and 23 by the way) do I gush like a teenage girl? If you are waiting for a rational answer I unfortunatly do not have one…I’m stuck with a supernatural obsession.

Some of you may laugh….but if you are a girl and haven’t read the twilight books then I have to tell you you can’t throw stones until you have. They are amazing! After I finished all the books..and the first three for a second time by listening to them on CD I found the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris to be just what I need to fill my new obsession. (Thanks to my friend and neighbor who loaned me the books) There are currently 9 of them, and I am reading the 6th book so it has kept me entertained this summer. This series covers many of the supernatural bases…vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, witches, fairies…it has them all. And I love it! And all of them are SEXY! Yes I am fascinated with fictional vampires!

I know what will happen next…I will finish this series and mourn that it’s over. But then just when I think I can move on to another genre…the new WB TV series The Vampire Diaries is going to be on TV and THEN New Moon will come out in Theaters (New Moon is the 2nd book of the Twilight Series) Now, I totally get that is post sounds insane. I really do. I get that these books were originally written for teenagers and I get that I sound ridiculous being excited about a new show on the WB…but I gotta tell you I can’t help it!

I know I am not the only one that is having this obsession. So I feel a little better about that…but not much. So for now I will continue to read my books every night and I will continue to be excited for the next Twilight Series installment. I am still holding out hope that Stefanie Meyers will write another book in the series. And for now…I will also continue to be obsessed with fictional characters who on TV and in movies are played by men much younger then myself. Except for the HBO series True Blood…I’m on team Eric for that, and I think he’s older…so that’s just wonderful!
