It’s no shocker that I love getting pictures taken of my family and mainly of my kids. I have pictures all over my house from the wonderful photographers I have worked with in the past, and as my kids grow, I get such happiness when I get to work with new photographers who professionally document how sweet and cute my kids are (not biased at all!). Even better, is when I got to work with a photographer from my home town in Pennsylvania! Samantha, of Samantha Lauren photos went to my high school, and was so gracious when I reached out to her and asked if she would take pictures of my kids. You see, I started following her on facebook and LOVED her pictures. I couldn’t wait for her to take pictures of my kids.
One of my favorite things about Samantha was how she took charge of the shoot. She contacted me before our date, and told me what she felt separated her from other photographers. She wanted to show my kids playing, and being kids and suggested a princess tea party, super hero capes, and a tee pee. Now what’s better than capturing your kids just doing what they do best….playing!? She brought the props, costumes, and ideas and I just went along for the ride. We walked around, set up different scenes and even got the kids to walk and play in the creek. All in the spirit of great shots and I was so so so very happy with the outcome.
I think a successful session is when I look at all the pictures and panic because I can’t pick just a few for frames because they are all so good. That is exactly what happened this time. As always, the pictures made me smile, and as always I love when my kids true expressions are captured on film. Even if it’s Tessa’s little pouty and serious face!
If you are in the Pennsylvania area, and plan on booking (which I hope you do!) then be sure to mention this post or After The Alter and Samantha is offering an 8×10 of the photo of your choice!!! I can’t wait to see your pictures!
I was provided with my photo session and images for the purposes of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
