Thank you all for your 12 week well wishes! Especially the ones that came to me even before this post was up! I’m sorry this is up a day late, but I was enjoying a relaxing weekend in PA with my family, and I wanted to give this post the time it deserved so I decided to post it up a day late. Although I am at the 12 week mark, I still don’t feel like I can really let out a sigh of relief just yet because I am still a few days away from next appointment. They say Pooh Bear is bouncing around inside of my belly without me knowing it, and I just can’t wait to see him/her again. People remind me that the fear never really goes away, but I love to enjoy the few days after an appointment where I can breath freely knowing that Pooh Bear is well and safe inside my belly.

As you can tell by the picture I am getting a bit of a belly. Nothing serious of course, but knowing my body I can definitely tell a difference. My waistline is widening, my butt is getting bigger and my belly is getting rounder. I wish I could report that my boobs were getting sexily ginormous, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Yes they are fuller, but they certainly haven’t changed enough for The Captain to be impressed…maybe someday! lol I will say that my back seems to be getting wider if that is possible. My normal bras just feel tight! Looks like I may have to consider buying some more! I look forward to the day when the exhaustion fades a bit. Not that I am complaining of course. I have been extremely lucky thus far throughout this pregnancy. I think those in my life take for granted how well I actually feel. I still am STARVING pretty much all the time, but still don’t seem to find food all that appealing. So much so that I annoyed my parents this past weekend while I was home in PA. They wanted to feed me, and get me my favorite foods, but I honestly couldn’t make any decisions on what I actually wanted…I was in no way trying to be ungrateful or difficult, but I really had no idea what I wanted to eat! I do know what I DON’T want to eat and that is red meat. Yuck! It’s tough being the summer time and frowning at a good juicy burger, but it’s up to Pooh Bear these days! What Pooh Bear does want is fruit and Italian Ices!

Now that we know what’s been up with me, let’s take a look at how Pooh Bear is doing in my belly!

Pregnancy Week 12

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby’s fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won’t be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby’s brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Our little Pooh Bear is the size of a lime! Getting pretty big if you ask me! Like I said above, I can not wait to see our little one bouncing around inside my belly. Only have to make it till Monday morning! So if I can put in a request for time to move quickly this week I would truly appreciate it!
