Dear Hop Hop,
Welcome to the start of the third trimester little one! We are at the beginning of the end, and I am not going to lie I am a little bit nervous. I can’t believe that in a few short weeks we get to meet your cute little face. I can’t believe that in a few short months I get to hold you and let you listen to my heartbeat from the outside. So many things are about to change, and although I am truly excited and prepared for the meeting you part, I am a tad nervous about the way I am going to feel in the coming months. I can only pray you will treat me well, but I have a feeling it’s going to be rough!
Sorry I haven’t written for a few weeks. During that time my belly has grown a lot and more and more people feel inclined to give their two cents about when I am due. Unfortunately, many ask if I am due sooner than I actually am which means my belly is just big. Day to day activities are getting harder to do, and I am starting to worry if I will be able to keep up with your brother in the coming weeks. I know I don’t have a choice, but my mind and my body don’t seem to be working together. When I want to keep going my body says “slow down”, and although it’s difficult I may have to listen to my body more because I have you to think about.
This week we get to see you again by having a 3D sonogram! I can’t wait to see your cute little features and get a better idea of what you look like. We did it for your brother and it’s amazing how the facial expressions translated to real life once he was born. Not only that but I get to double check that you are actually a GIRL!
We will be making some progress on your nursery in the coming days, and by “we”, I mean we are having a neighbor come to paint and put up crown molding. It will be a room fit for a princess in no time at all. Next will come the furniture and then we can really start picturing that room with you in it! Kind of surreal!
By this week, your baby weighs 2 1/4 pounds (about the size of a large eggplant) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can open and close her eyes, which now sport lashes. This movement is more of a reflexive blink than a deliberate opening and closing, but it won’t be long before she’s batting those beauties at you.
