My little guy seems to think that he is in charge, so there has come a time where I need to establish my dominance as a mom. After speaking to other moms I learned that a “time out” may be exactly what he needs to learn about what behavior is appropriate and which is not. I then began my search for a Time Out Chair, that would be the spot that I would sit his little tushy down on when the time to discipline arose. When I saw the Levels Of Discovery Time Out Chair I knew I found our chair. It was a rocking chair, and my favorite part was the fact that it had a timer on it. That meant that I could set it to let him know when his time was up. It was perfect!
The founder of Levels of Discovery, Jeff Hutsell, had a background in the development of emotion-based products for Hallmark, The Franklin Mint and Enesco. With the knowledge he decided that he wanted to bring fun and innovative children’s products to the marketplace that are truly something special. In my opinion that is exactly what he did with Levels of Discovery.
Here is how he describes their products in his own words:
Anyone can produce a product that is exactly what it appears to be. I want to take that a step further and create products that allow children to discover the “unexpected”! Let me use an example from our Rock A BuddiesTM product line to show you what I mean. Our award-winning Schoolhouse Rocker has a fun “school” theme with primary colors, apple finials and movable abacus beads to help little ones learn counting and colors. Take another look and you’ll find a flip-up desk (great for reading and writing) and an armrest pencil box with a sliding lid. Pull the chalk on the seat and the music box plays the “ABC Song!”. Look again, and you’ll find an understamp beneath the seat that can be “personalized” with the child’s name, the name of the gift-giver and the special occasion when the chair was received. I think you get the idea.
The Time Out Chair is adorable. Here are some great features!
- Special Message: “Time out to think about the things you do, but always remember I love you!”
- Working timer can be set for up to 15 minutes
- Special understamp beneath the seat that the customer can personalize with the child’s name, the name of the gift-giver and the special occasion when the chair was received
Captain Awesome wanted to give his review and say how easy it was to put together. he went as far as to say it was one of the easiest child pieces he’s put together yet. The directions were perfect and the pieces easily were put together. For him to say that is a fabulous review!
At this point our little man thinks the rocker is pretty cool. This isn’t necessarily the best news since he isn’t supposed to want to sit in it. I am sure soon enough when he knows what the chair is for he won’t find it so appealing.
I reviewed the Levels of Discovery toy box for Mommies With Style and I could not be more impressed with their products. I am so happy to have another item of theirs in my home. They are great for the kids and, extremely unique. Whether you are buying for yourself or as a gift I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Now for the fun part! One of YOU will win your very own Levels Of Discovery Time Out Rocker! The winner will get to choose the boy or the girl rocker. How fun is that? The giveaway will run for 2 weeks and end October 15th.
I was provided with a Levels of Discovery Rocker for the purpose of this review. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Fly Boy set is cute too.
