One of my goals of 2012 is to offer some sort of information on this blog other than just personal stories. I am by no means an expert on anything I do….mom, wife, housewife, sales….the list goes on, but I can comment on things that worked for me. That is why I wanted to write a list of things that helped me out in some way during 2011. I wrote about my favorite newborn things back in May, and some of these things are there, but there are also some new ones! Enjoy!

My 2011 Favorite Things

My Keurig:  Ok, so this fantastic machine is nothing new to most people, but it was new to me in 2011. We already had 2…yes, 2 coffee makers so I never felt that I needed a Keurig, but after the baby the desire just to make one quick cup of coffee no longer seemed like a luxury, it became more of a necessity. So The Captain agreed and I have never been happier with a kitchen machine in my life!

Aden + Anais Blankets: These are the most fantastic blankets! I was/am a horrible swaddler, and although these supposedly are the best at that, I used them for everything else. They easily fit in my diaper bag and were perfect for those early weeks of doctor appointments. That little naked baby needs to be covered..trust me! It was great in the summer because it breathed, and I loved their large size. Just the perfect blanket.

I am going to lump the next three items as things you need to get your baby to sleep! The Sleep Sheep andFisher Price Ocean Wonders Sooth and Glow Sea Horse are STILL in his crib, and the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium which was perfect until my guy decided it was fun to kick it down every night. All things were perfect to help put my little man to sleep.

The KidCo Go Pod was my favorite summer item. It’s like an excersaucer you can easily transport, and it was perfect for my days at the beach or even just lounging outside.

Our Fisher Price Booster Seat was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t even think it would be useful, but I use this seat all the time! I bring it to restaurants as well as to peoples house when we eat outside of our house. It’s perfect for eating on the go!

Unless you are using every chair that sits around your kitchen table I recommend this Space Saver High Chair. It fits on a chair you already have, and doesn’t take up any extra room. Also, if you need that chair, it easily unstraps and can be put away easily. Extremely useful!

Our Britax Boulevard was an amazing choice. We also like the Britax Roundabout which we use in The Captain’s car. Yes it’s expensive, but we spend a fortune on all of our baby gear…why not spend it when it counts the most. Your child’s safety! I’m sure other car seats are great, but in my mind this is truly worth the money. It’s big, sturdy, and the head rests are great for napping. Definitely worth it in my book!

Baby wearing has always worked for me, and my favorite are the Ergo Baby and the Moby Wrap (trust me I’ve tried a bunch!). The Moby was best used when Christian was an infant, and once he was bigger I preferred the Ergo. Both of these helped my back, and allowed me to grocery shop and comfort my son at the same time. Perfect!

My Levels of Discovery Fun Bench is so great! It’s the cutest toy box I’ve seen in a long time, and will be something that grows with my son for years to come.

I am sure there are more, but these are the first things that come to mind. Of course these are things that worked for me, and maybe wouldn’t for you, but I figured I’d share anyway!

What were some of your favorite things last year?
