Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s and future dad’s out there! I hope you enjoyed your special day! I wanted to take a minute to honor 2 men in my life. The first being my dad, the most wonderful man a girl could ask for. And my husband, who is going to make the most wonderful dad any child could want.

I had the most wonderful childhood. My parents were amazing and gave me the most wonderful and happy life. My dad has always been there for me. He was the one who played silly games with us on long car trips, quizzed us before big tests in school, tried to teach us to play sports (that didn’t really work, not that he didn’t put in the effort), was always there with us for dinner at night, provided for us, and best of all he was always there when we needed him. Even better…he’s still that man today. Today my dad plays so many roles in my life. He is my dad, my friend, advisor and even boss. Soon he will be playing the new role of Grandpa! Where did the time go?  Family always comes first for him before anything else. He worked from home, so he was there every day when we came home from school. I always had my dad around and I would never have it any other way. Even though I am turning 30 this week, I am still, and will always be Daddy’s little girl. I have never stopped needing him and probably never will.

Captain Awesome is very much like my dad in many ways. He is such a wonderful and caring man. He is my best friend (I know I know I’ve said that a million times but it’s true!) One of the things I love the most about him is how dedicated he is to our little family, and I know that as time goes on, and we have our children, that dedication will only get stronger. I am so grateful that we get to go through this new journey together.  We celebrated this Father’s day since he too will so be a father. I had a heck of a time deciding what I wanted to get him, and in the end I decided our little Pooh Bear needed to be an Atlanta Falcon’s fan like his/her daddy, and gave him a little Atlanta Falcon’s onsie! Since I’m due in December I think there will be time for our little one to cheer on his or her team.

I am so lucky to have both of these men in my life. One who helped to make me the woman I am today, and the other who will walk by my side as I become the woman I am meant to be. I certainly am one lucky lady!!! Happy Father’s Day!!!
