For those people who are expecting a baby, and are super excited about finding out the sex of their baby as soon as possible, there is a product out there that claims to tell you as early as 10 weeks what the gender of your baby will be. It also claims to be 90% effective! What is this product? It’s the Intellegender test! I always said that I wanted to give this test a try when I became pregnant, and when that time finally came, I was given the opportunity to try out the product for my blog. It was a perfect fit! Are you dying to know what the results were?? I know I was! It said it’s a GIRL!!! Just look at the picture above!

The test tells you that you can test as early as 10 weeks into your pregnancy, but for some reason I wanted to wait till 12 weeks. In my head I felt like maybe then it would be more accurate?  So I took the test on what was 12 weeks 1 day. The directions scared me at first. They seemed so precise that I was worried that I would screw it up. Things such as a syringe type thing to collect the urine, as well as the idea that I had to swirl it together and not shake. To top it all off the directions told me I had to put the test down on something white, and once set down I couldn’t touch it. Not even to look at it at the end, but when it was actually time to do it, I found it pretty easy! The good news is that I don’t think I screwed up! Woo hoo! Take a look at a sample girl result test, and a sample boy result test. The boy is supposed to come out smokey green or blue. I hope the stuff at the bottom doesn’t mean that I didn’t mix it enough?? Who knows!

According to the intellegender website the accuracy is about 90%.

In our initial laboratory trials and two subsequent independent trials, the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test was proven 90% accurate. (Each trial had differing accuracy rates averaging approximately 90%).  In home accuracy rates may vary.  You must follow the instructions precisely in order to achieve the highest accuracy.  Since inception in 2006, the test has been constantly monitored for improvements and several formula changes have been implemented to bring real world results closer to those found in the lab.  Please remember that the test is not 100% accurate.  IntelliGender is committed to providing fun products for moms along their pregnancy journey.  If your gender result proves to be wrong and you feel that this will in any way cause emotional stress, our GPT may not be for you.

I have heard stories of where the test was right and wrong, but in reality you have a 50/50 shot of being right. As it says in the quote above, this test should be used for fun, and I DO NOT plan on painting the nursery pink just yet!

Thus far all signs have pointed towards us having a girl. First Brooke The psychic said girl, the Chinese Calendar said girl, and now the intellegender test said girl. I have been joking that it will totally be a Boy since all of the signs say girl. I guess only time will tell! We plan on finding out for sure at our 20 week ultra sound which should occur at the end of July or the beginning of August. So the journey continues! Is the test correct???

The Intellegender company provided me with a free Intellegender Test for this review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. (as always!)
