Husband and I tell each other those three little words every time we see each other. When we get off the phone, when he’s heading out the door, when we go to bed.

He was the first one to say it, while we were laying on the couch watching television. It was a month after we were dating. We were engaged six months later!

We actually say it a lot: when we get off the phone or leave for the day or when he walks in the other room…

And he actually said “I love you first” to me. It was the first night we moved in together (yeah uh I have no idea what I was thinking, moving in with someone who hadn’t professed their love for me yet).

We were goofing around and I said something like he hurt me and he said he was sorry and then he said he loved me. I was so shocked I didn’t say anything back for a while and then I finally said it back.

My hubby was the first to say it but I could tell he wanted it to but was afraid to say it so I had to give him the green light to go for it (was that mean?). The feeling was mutual of course

I too feel as though I always say it first and he says it back. I wish he initiated those three words more often for sure. He tells me that I should just know it (which of course I do) and not have to hear it (but it is really nice to just have it said to you out of the blue!). The times where he does say it is when I drop him off at work in the morning. I’m ALWAYS the one to say it when we go to sleep at night.

It took my husband a long time to say the words. When he did I knew he meant them forever. Now I love the ways he shows me that he loves me just as much. Stopping from SITS!

my husband was actually the first to say it! followed very closely by me, mind you. but you’re right, i think women SAY it more often, but i don’t necessarily think that the men aren’t thinking/feeling it. they’re just dummies. they don’t think in the considerate sense of the word the way that women do. i’m a gusher- i don’t get off the phone/leave my brothers, parents, or even really close friends without saying it. i made peace a long time ago that i just need to say it. but it sure feels good when i hear back, like you said!

My husband was the first person to say I love you. Talk about being caught off guard! I was so relieved, I told him that I loved him too and loved him for a long time. I was so excited (I never said it because I didnt want him to think I was some love sick puppy that could be a crazy stalker, LOL!).

We tell each other we love each other before we leave for work, during work (phone, email, txt), and when we see each other again in the evening. I think we both say it equally and a lot!

We say it alot. Hubs happens to be the more romantic of the two of us (LOL, how often does that happen), so he may say it (or start it) slightly more than I do.

The first time he said it to me we were hanging out on a blanket in the park. And I had to have him repeat it, because he said it so softly!

My boyfriend & I say I love you frequently, including ends of phone calls and leaving for work in the morning. I like it best when it’s spontaneous though, those moments where we’re doing something silly or whatever and you just feel so full up with love that you just have to mark the moment.

The first time I said it to him, though, was totally by accident! I’d just gotten home from our weekend away and was leaving a voicemail when out it tumbled. He kept the voicemail until he changed services

I think my husband said it first to me. I know I felt it before he did, but I waited for him to say it because of my fear of being rejected, but it didn’t take him TOO long to say it after I knew how I felt!

I try to make sure hubs and I say “I love you” before we go to work… just in case. We also will say it after we get home and before we go to bed. Sometimes we’ll say it on the phone, but not always. Seth doesn’t like being mushy in company so sometimes he won’t say it if people are around.

Seth will say it A LOT if he wants to get busy, or after getting busy. He’ll say it repeatedly like 20 times in a row, which is cute, but sometimes annoying.

I think all women obsess about it more than men do. We dont say I love you when we hang up the phone but we always say it before we go to bed at night and my man is pretty good about texting those 3 words throughout the day
