Happy Birthday Captain Awesome!

Today is the day that my best friend and soul mate came into this world….today is my husband’s BIRTHDAY!!!

I am one lucky lady to have my husband and best friend rolled into one person. I know not everyone has that. Our relationship started almost 9 years ago and it started as a friendship….from there we found love. I knew Captain Awesome was the one for me when I realized how much I NEEDED him in my life. I can’t imagine this world with out him, and I hope I never have to.

I pick on him regularly for his lack of household skills or help….but he is there for me in so many other ways. It’s always easy to point out the bad…and we forget to point out the good. It’s the good that we need to remember and I think in a marriage we should always try to remember the good instead of focusing on the bad. If I am the maid and the chef…then the Captain is IT and CFO. He is able to fix my computer, do the back end of this blog, set up TVs, DVRs and surround sound, as well as run all of our finances. I have zero clue about investing and different funds for our future, so I let him handle all of that. It is comforting to know that he is taking care of us in that way.

I love his family values. We are pretty much on the same page when it comes to the importance of our family, and I appreciate it when he makes time to do things in the spirit of family…whether it’s going to the dog park, picking out pumpkins, cutting down a Christmas tree or even something as mundane as eating dinner together at night. I know he does these things because it makes me happy…and for that I am grateful.

Most of all I look forward to going through life with him by my side. Everything is more fun when we do it together. Over the years we had our ups and downs, but no matter what he has stuck by me….we have stuck by each other.
