Dear Pooh Bear, I have decided that each week I will write you a little letter so that someday you can look back and know what your mommy was thinking about. Yesterday was our big 13 week appointment and your daddy and I got to see your adorable little face for the first time! You are about 3.2 inches right now, and moving around inside my belly, although I can’t feel you in there yet. The technician told us that you were a very good baby because you posed very nicely for the scans that needed to be taken. I think that means you are going to love the camera as much as your mommy does. Do we have a little movie star on our hands? You even took the time in your busy schedule of bouncing around and stretching to give us a little wave! It was very sweet of you, and made your daddy and I smile. I asked the tech if you were a boy or a girl, and she couldn’t even make a guess so we are just to wait till July 19th when you hopefully are just as excited to say hello to the camera.

You have no idea how nervous I was to get through this first trimester. I knew in my heart that everything was going fine, but my head I knew that there is always a reason to worry. You still are making me very tired, but to be honest, you haven’t made your mommy sick thus far, so I think I will enjoy the extra hours of sleep that I get. One of my favorite activities is napping these days. I just know that once you are here my naps will become non existent, so I will enjoy them while they last.

This week I have been craving Italian Ices, and Peaches. Unfortunately, none of the peaches I’ve seen have lived up to the great juicy peach that appears in my head each day. I did find some great canned peaches at a friends house which made me excited, and those are always sweet and wonderful. I have stayed away from all caffeine (minus whatever is in some chocolate) and I have been missing fountain coke, and maybe a Dunkin Donuts Iced coffee. I know that they say we are allowed some caffeine but for now it’s just not worth it for me. Maybe when I REALLY want something down the line I will give in.

According to the scale I have not seemed to gain any weight thus far which is a miracle since my mid section is filling out nicely. I guess I should be happy about that since I have heard the weight starts to come on during the second trimester. I always wonder what I will look like as a pregnant woman. It’s funny to think that in just a few short months my body will change entirely (and most likely never be the same!)

What do I look forward to most in the next couple of weeks? I can’t wait to feel you inside my belly little Pooh Bear. I hope you decide to let mommy feel  you sooner than later. I just know it’s going to be the most amazing thing in the world!

What’s going on at 13 weeks?

How your baby’s growing:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby’s tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you’re having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

How crazy is this thought? If it’s a girl, the egg that will someday be my grandchild is already inside her at this point. How crazy is that??? We are just over the moon at this point and thank everyone for all of their support and good wishes. It means the world to The Captain and I. So with a huge sigh of relief we go forward! On to the 2nd trimester!!!!
