Dear Hop Hop,

A little disclaimer that this picture was at 29 weeks while at the beach in sea Isle, but figured I could be brave with a bathing suit shot

Hey little girl! It’s been a while since I wrote, but we have been so busy! We are already in the middle of summer and I feel like we haven’t had a second to breathe! We confirmed the other week that you are in fact a girl during a 3D sonogram. Don’t be upset that I wasn’t so sure…I just felt I had to see you one more time before going all out with pink. The good news is that you still are my little princess in there. I hope you like pink….cause I know I sure do!

I still think you could be a little kinder to your mommy. What’s up with not liking any food? Nothing really sits right after I eat it. Whether it’s indigestion, heartburn, upset stomach or the runs….nothing seems to work well. And how can you not like PIZZA??? It’s mommy’s favorite and at this point I feel like I no longer can eat it. That’s not cool little one. Eating is one of the major joys of being pregnant and I have yet to enjoy it. So If I can put in a request for that to change that would be great. I would really appreciate it.

As for a name we still don’ have one for you. Don’t blame me…blame your dad! He won’t commit. You will soon learn that is a trend with him, so don’t take it too personally. Your brother on the other hand is VERY adamant that you name be Girl Girl Fly away. You may be asking what happened to Hop Hop since all these letters are to a Hop Hop, but from the beginning your big brother said if you were a girl your name would be Girl Girl Fly Away…and he’s sticking to it! At least you will be the only one with that name right???

Another request is that you turn yourself to be head down. This horizontal business is no good, and turning breech would be even worse. When you are horizontal (which is often) it feel like you are using superhero strength to push my sides out on either end. I had a feeling you were positioned that way and saw the proof during the last sono. You are very busy and are spinning like a top in there, so I just hope that you end up head down like you are supposed to.

Your room has been painted a beautiful shade of pink called Ballet Slippers. We had our neighbors paint and put up crown molding while we spent that week at the Jaju and Pee Pee’s beach. Now that it’s pink it seems much more real. I walk past that room every day and smile. Soon it will be yours…my little girls. Furniture comes next week to pull it all together! I just can’t wait! Now, what’s left is to buy the little odds and ends that you need. I use the term NEED very lightly since we pretty much have most of what we need. Let’s just say I need to spruce up our supplies with little girl themed things. I just can’t wait.

You get bigger and bigger every day and I can’t believe we are 10 weeks away from your due date. When will you decide to arrive I don’t know, but I do know that we all can’t wait. You have a lot of people who love you already, and we can’t wait to meet you. Stay put for a while little girl.

Your baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and weighs almost 3 pounds (about the size of a large cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will shrink as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after birth, she’ll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
