Dear Christian,

I originally going to stop writing you letters after the first year, but I couldn’t think of any reason why to stop? You do and learn so much every day, and I love to look back and see how far you’ve come. That is why I have decided to continue to write to you into your second year. I hope someday you can look at and appreciate these letters, and for me it’s a way to remember. And with all the joy in our lives these days I certainly want to remember every moment I can.

When I watch you sleep in your crib on the monitor I keep thinking to myself how big you look! You are quickly looking more like a little boy, and less like a baby. Your fat baby cheeks have slimmed down to your adorable little boy face, and your chunky baby thighs are now getting stronger so you can walk.

That’s right little guy you are now WALKING! I”m not going to lie…you look a little like Frankenstein when you do so, but you are officially on the move. I am so proud of you, and you certainly are proud of yourself. When I am in the kitchen and you come to find me it’s adorable! You have a huge grin on your face like “look what I am doing mom!”. That’s when I catch you and give you a big hug so that you know how good you did.

We have come to that point in your development where you have decided that you should get EVERYTHING you want when you want it, and you also believe that if you don’t want to do something that you shouldn’t have to do it. You my dear boy are mistaken. Your mommy is trying very hard to teach you who’s boss, and I will give you a hint…it’s not you! Didn’t I have a year before we hit the terrible 2’s?  You certainly have a mind of your own, and although I love it, it can also be very frustrating.

You celebrated your second Christmas, and it was fantastic! You tore open all of your presents, and even cared about what was inside! A big difference from a few weeks ago at your birthday. Soon you will be so excited to get the yearly visit from Santa!!! I know I can’t wait! Your mom LOVES Christmas and can’t to share the magical time of year with you!

The year is now 2012! We celebrated the New Year at home with friends with you sleeping soundly in your crib. 2011 was the most fantastic year because we got to watch you grow, and I can imagine 2012 will be just as amazing.
